Clay work

What: One of the oldest human inventions, pottery has been around since before the Neolithic period, with objects dating as far back as 29,000 BC. Kiran Nadar Museum of Art presents an indigenous workshop series that will introduce the basics of pottery – ‘Terra Joys’. The ancient clay craft of Ramgarh, Rajasthan will also be discussed. One can learn about the process from scratch, along with some essential technical details. The workshop aims to give the participants a sense of the historic and current magnitude and impact of the craft. It will offer the unique experience of recreating the time and effort a craftsman puts into making a unique piece of art. The workshop is led by Om Prakash Galav who is an expert potter with more than 22 years of experience. His expertise and passion for pottery have been passed down through generations of his family.

Pandemic tales 

What: With artist Perry Chen’s new group of works titled ‘​Perpetual Novelty’, Nature Morte is pleased to announce an online viewing room. ​The viewing room is an avenue for the gallery to showcase new works being made by artists. Born in New York City in 1976, Chen is an artist and the founder of Kickstarter. He approaches his work with an openness to form and context, having used art to explore technology and technology to help democratize the funding of creative work. For Chen the most pertinent question is: “How do we negotiate a world of growing complexity and uncertainty?” He prefers to look at larger patterns and forces rather than focussing on specific technological changes.

Taste of Singapore 

What: Foodies of the city, here’s a new joint in the block. Mai Bao, a modern Singapore street food restaurant, is all geared to welcome patrons. Promoting a casual premium-dining concept, it serves delectable food straight from the streets of Singapore. The carefully crafted menu of the restaurant has been curated by Jeremy Nguee, a celebrity chef from Singapore. Some of the signature dishes are Hainanese chicken rice, Nasi Lemak, Laksa, Chilli Crab, Ayam Goreng, Salted Egg Prawns, Popiah, Satay, Hokkien Mee, Rendang curry, a wide variety of dim sums, baos and so on. Playing with vibrancy in the interiors, the restaurant offers a colourful, quirky, lively ambience with various subtle elements from Singapore. Mai Bao has a unique beverage program, offering some delectable coolers encapsulating regional flavours.
