Bringing to you the city’s most happening events. Take a look and plan your week ahead

Get grooving

What: For all those who would love to indulge in a visual treat of seamless dancing, this one’s for you. This World Dance Day, Sandhya is organising a grand dance festival titled No Boundaries. More than 100 dancers will take you through an enthralling journey of different dance styles. Join in the grand celebration this weekend.

When: April 29 (7 pm)

Where: Siri Fort auditorium, Gautam Nagar, Delhi

Jazz up

What: This one’s for all the jazz lovers in Delhi. The Piano Man Jazz club in collaboration with UNDP and UNESCO is celebrating International Jazz Day on Monday. This day is organised to honour jazz and the power of music in uniting people. Join them for a wonderful evening of harmony, with over 20 artists playing different styles.

When: April 30 (5:30 pm)

Where: The Piano Man Jazz Club, Safdarjung, New Delhi

Dance, Drama, and Dine

What: Ever experienced dinner theatre? Here is the chance to watch ‘Ghungroo’ and indulge in dance, theatre and food together in this interesting experience.  Join them as they take you through enchanting tales of the capital’s history with beautiful dance performances.  This is followed by a buffet of traditional dishes, cooked slowly with the right amount of spices.

When: April 30 (6:45 pm – 9:30 pm)

Mock trial gone wrong

What: A group of people staging a play in a village asks a local to replace a cast member who doesn’t show up. A mock trial is arranged to make him understand court proceedings which suddenly turns into charges of personal vendetta. Head to the Saksham theatre festival this weekend to watch ‘Khamosh Adalat Jari Hai’ to know what happens next. The play is a Hindi adaptation of a well-known Marathi drama.

Sweet temptation

What: Can’t live without chocolate? What if you can make your own? Join Saloni Sharma, founder of Ame Cuire Patisserie, for a hands-on interactive session on chocolate making for beginners. From plain dark or milk chocolate to flavoured hazelnut or Nutella, learn how to handle and pack it all. The best part? You can take a box home.

 Future Filmmakers

What: For all the cinephiles in the city, here’s the chance to watch some of the undiscovered works of budding directors at ‘First Cut 5.0’. Filmmakers present will discuss the process of fil- making and give their insights on the projects. In case you have your own project, you can discuss it in the screening and meet fellow enthusiasts from your field.

When: April 28 (5 pm)

 Night explorers

What: The scorching heat of the day stopping you from exploring the city? Hop on to your bikes at midnight and cycle around the city. Take a tour of historical places like India Gate and Bangla Sahib and discover new places. There will be snacks available at the end of the tour. Enjoy the night as the honking horns and sirens drowns out.

 Celebrating May Day

What: Like every year, May Day Bookstore and Café will be celebrating May Day with interesting performances and events. They are offering rare paperbacks and new books at ridiculous discounted rates. Join them for book readings and performances by stand-up artist and other musicians. If you want to flaunt your talents, you are welcome to perform at the event.
