Gallery Ragini and Ambassador IHCL SeleQtions present ‘Road Less Travelled’, a photographic exhibition of various layers of Bengal by Sanjay Das

The Mask II / Photo: Sanjay Das

The exhibition sheds light on the forgotten crafts and their makers who refuse to be intimidated by their financial hardships. They continue to produce textiles, pattachitra paintings, terracotta images and much more. The history of these crafts can be traced back to an era influenced by the Mughals and the British. Das has spent several months observing and photographing the lives & work of Bengal’s mask makers, weavers, conch shell craftsmen, and idol makers – winning their trust & inhabiting their space to know more about their lives.

Where: Ambassador, New Delhi
