Mother’s Day: For most of us, it is the food our mothers have been cooking for years. Meals that arrive on time, exactly how we like them, without us ever asking how much effort goes into making them. From early morning chai to late-night dinners, our mothers quietly build our lives around food, care, and routine. “Maa ke haath ka khana” is not just about taste. It is about comfort, memory, and a kind of love that rarely asks for anything in return.

But in the middle of all this, we often forget something simple. When was the last time she took a break from the kitchen?

Mother’s Day can be more than flowers or messages. It can be about changing roles, even if just for a day. Let her step out, sit at the table, and be served. Let her explore flavours she may have never tried before, beyond the dishes she has perfected for everyone else.

This year, take your mother out of the kitchen and introduce her to a world of global cuisines.

Moe’s Casa Mexicana is a great place to begin. Inspired by Mexican street food, the space feels lively and full of energy. The menu focuses on customisation, allowing you to build your own tacos, burritos, and bowls. You can choose from Mexican rice, black beans, grilled vegetables, cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo, and different salsas depending on your spice preference. Dishes like loaded nachos, quesadillas, and Mexican street corn add texture and variety. Signature rice bowls layered with chipotle crema and fresh toppings bring strong, smoky flavours, making every bite rich and tasty.

BOYA offers something different. Built around a Nikkei philosophy, it blends Japanese techniques with Peruvian ingredients. The menu highlights fresh seafood and clean flavours. You can try tuna tataki with ginger-onion soy, salmon ceviche with citrus and sweet potato, or scallops dressed with yuzu. For something indulgent, there are rock shrimp tempura, chicken karaage, and sushi rolls with crisp textures and creamy layers. The mains include grilled salmon with miso glaze and soft, buttery sea bass, offering a balance between light and rich dishes.

At Cecilia’s Pizzeria, the menu is built around simple and well-executed classics. Wood-fired pizzas come with thin, crisp crusts and fresh toppings like mozzarella, basil, and seasonal vegetables. Pastas range from creamy sauces to lighter tomato-based options, while risottos bring a soft, rich texture. The focus is on fresh ingredients and balanced flavours, making the meal feel indulgent yet familiar.

You Mee brings together Japanese, Korean, and Southeast Asian flavours. The space is playful and vibrant, which adds to the overall experience. The menu offers a wide variety, from sushi rolls and dim sums to ramen bowls and rice dishes. You can begin with small plates like dumplings or tempura, move on to noodles tossed in rich sauces, or try flavourful rice bowls. The mix of textures and flavours makes it easy to explore different cuisines in one sitting, without it feeling overwhelming.

Kiara Soul Kitchen offers a different kind of experience. This vegetarian fine-dining space focuses on clean, nourishing food while still keeping flavours exciting. The menu brings together global influences with a wellness approach. Dishes like Indonesian nasi goreng made with wheat seitan, grilled satay skewers, sesame satay noodles, and steamed manchurian cakes show a mix of creativity and nutrition. Ingredients like amaranth and whole grains add depth, while the flavours remain bold and satisfying. It is a place where the food feels both thoughtful and enjoyable.

For those looking to make the occasion more indulgent, Eros Hotel, New Delhi is hosting a special Mother’s Day brunch at Blooms. The hotel promises an elegant dining experience with floral décor, festive arrangements, and a carefully curated spread designed to celebrate mothers in a warm and sophisticated setting. Guests can enjoy a range of flavourful dishes along with an assortment of desserts crafted to make the celebration memorable. The brunch will be held from 12 PM to 3 PM at Blooms, Eros Hotel, and is priced at Rs 3,500 plus taxes.
