A 27-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by an unidentified person in northeast Delhi’s Khajuri Chowk area, said police.
Police said that Varun, the victim, was a resident of Sonia Vihar and was working as a security guard.
They said the incident occurred around 5:20 pm on Thursday when Varun was en route to his sister’s place in Garhi Mendu and had stopped to buy fruits at Khajuri Chowk.
According to police sources, Karan, a 25-year-old resident of Khajuri Khas, was passing by when Varun signaled for help, claiming that he had been stabbed with an ice pick.
Karan rushed Varun to the Pentagram Nursing Home in Bhajanpura, where the police were alerted. Upon arrival, the police learned that Varun had sustained three abdominal stab wounds.
He was subsequently referred to the Trauma Centre at Civil Lines, where he died at 8:59 pm, as confirmed by a senior police officer.
The incident reportedly occurred at a crowded location on Old Wazirabad Road during daylight hours.
