A 28-year-old man was shot dead in the early hours of Tuesday in Adarsh Nagar area of northwest Delhi, an official said.
The deceased, identified as Alam, sustained multiple gunshot injuries near a shop at New Sabzi Mandi in the TPT Nagar area at 1:45 am, the official said.
He was rushed to the Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
After being alerted about the incident, a police team reached the spot where they found blood stains and empty cartridges, the officer said.
The crime team also inspected the scene and collected evidence as part of the investigation. A case has been registered and further investigation into the matter is underway.
Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the shooting and are trying to establish the sequence of events leading to Alam’s death. Efforts are also underway to identify and trace the persons allegedly involved in the incident, the officer said.
