
A man died after allegedly setting himself on fire outside his wife’s residence in Jahangirpuri area of northwest Delhi over a domestic dispute, police said on Tuesday.
The incident took place on Monday, they said, adding that a PCR call regarding a fire incident was received, following which police personnel rushed to the spot and found the man, Deepansh Chaudhary, in a severely burnt condition.
He was immediately shifted to Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial (BJRM) Hospital, where he died during treatment, they said.
During the inquiry, police found that Deepansh and his wife had been facing matrimonial disputes for some time, and a complaint had earlier been filed at the Crime Against Women (CAW) Cell.

The police said that on the day of the incident, the couple allegedly had another altercation after which Deepansh threatened to end his life. He later allegedly set himself ablaze outside his wife’s residence.
No foul play has been established so far, the police said, adding that further inquiry into the matter is underway and legal action will be taken accordingly.
