Delhi Police recovered 161 stolen two-wheelers and arrested or apprehended 109 people, including 24 history-sheeters, during a four-day crime-prevention drive in Rohini, officials said on Sunday.

The operation was conducted from August 18 to 21, during which more than 5,000 vehicles were checked and verified across the district, they said, adding that the recovered vehicles included 116 motorcycles and 45 scooters.

The drive also led to the recovery of seven illegal firearms, including a Brazilian-made Taurus pistol, six country-made pistols and 15 live cartridges, besides nine knives.

Police also arrested seven proclaimed offenders and seven alleged cyber fraudsters during the operation.

Police busted a fake call centre in the Begumpur area, leading to the arrest of six people.

Police said the investigation into the cyber fraud cases has linked 26 complaints involving alleged fraud of around Rs 78 lakh.

In an NDPS case, two alleged drug suppliers were arrested and 686 grams of heroin was recovered. Five people have so far been arrested in the case, with the total recovery standing at 1.764 kg of heroin, Rs 1.55 lakh in cash and a car allegedly used to transport the contraband, police said.

The drive also resulted in the arrest of 13 alleged bootleggers and seizure of illicit liquor and a car, while 21 people were arrested in 11 gambling cases.
