The Metropolitan Police Crime Branch has disrupted an illicit engine oil production facility and apprehended its proprietor in the outer north district of Samaypur Badli, officials said.
The authorities stated that the individual in question, Atul Gupta (42), had been operating the facility for approximately eighteen months within the Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar area.
A police squad conducted a raid on the premises on Wednesday, resulting in Gupta’s arrest, they further informed.
As per a police representative, Gupta, a resident of Pitampura, had been affixing false brand labels onto inferior quality oil and chemicals, subsequently marketing them.
Police disclosed that various containers and tubs containing chemicals were discovered at his leased residence.
“The accused, Gupta, had previously faced arrest by the northwest district police for a comparable fraudulent activity. However, upon release from custody, he resumed his illicit operations,” the officer stated, mentioning that the investigation remains ongoing. (With inputs from PTI)
