The Delhi Police have filed a 7,000-page charge sheet related to an alleged kidney transplant operation involving Bangladeshi citizens, an officer reported on Thursday.
In July, the Delhi Police Crime Branch arrested seven individuals, including a 50-year-old Delhi-based woman doctor and three Bangladeshi nationals, in connection with the case.
According to a source, the charge sheet, which was filed in a city court last week, names a total of ten people as accused and spans 7,112 pages.
The police stated that the doctor, D Vijaya Rajakumari, who was then working as a kidney transplant surgeon on a “fee-for-service basis” at the Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in southeast Delhi, is accused of being involved in the transplants of approximately 15 Bangladeshi patients between 2021 and 2023.

The charge sheet alleges that Dr Rajakumari conducted these surgeries at Noida-based Yathartha Hospital, where she served as a visiting consultant.
Among those arrested are the doctor’s assistant, Vikram Singh, and three Bangladeshi nationals — Rasel, Mihammad Sumon Miyan, and Mohammad Rokon, also known as Rahul Sarkar or Bijay Mondal.
During their investigation, the police recovered 23 stamps, forged patient and donor files, and forged Aadhaar cards from the accused.
A police officer identified Rasel as the kingpin of the network. Rasel, who arrived in India in 2019, initially donated his kidney to a Bangladeshi patient.
After his surgery, Rasel began building his racket, coordinating with different stakeholders and establishing contact with prospective kidney donors from Bangladesh and patients in India, the officer said.
One of Rasel’s associates, Ifti, who is based in Bangladesh, was responsible for recruiting donors, the officer added. (With inputs from PTI)
