Rs 20 crore worth jewellery looted from shop in Delhi

Jewellery valued at more than 20 crore rupees has disappeared from a jewelry store in the Jangpura district of Delhi following a suspected burglary, according to authorities on Tuesday.

Rajesh Deo, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) said, “We received a report on Tuesday from Umrao Jewellers, and police units have been dispatched to the location. We have initiated an inquiry into the incident.”

The police indicated that the shop was closed on Monday and the incident is believed to have transpired between Sunday night and Monday.

“Numerous CCTV recordings are available, which our forensic teams are currently examining. The culprits are expected to be apprehended shortly,” the official added. (With inputs from PTI)
