
A 17-year-old boy was apprehended by Delhi Police after a video purportedly showing him displaying an illegal firearm was widely circulated online, police said on Thursday.
A country-made pistol was recovered from his possession, they said.
Police received information on August 25 about a person displaying an illegal firearm in a video circulated on social media, officials said.
Acting on the information, a police team conducted a raid and apprehended the boy, who was identified from the video.
During a search, police recovered a country-made pistol, also known as a desi katta, from his possession, they said.
A case under relevant sections of the Arms Act was registered at Welcome police station on August 26, and further investigation is underway, police said.
The apprehended boy has been dealt with as per law, police added.
