
Three people, including two women, have been arrested in Delhi after police recovered heroin valued at more than Rs 4 crore, officials said on Sunday.
The Outer North district police seized a total of 1.012 kg of heroin in a two-stage operation carried out on August 29.
The first arrest was of Afsana (23), a resident of Jahangirpuri, who was caught in the Bhalswa Dairy area with 300 grams of heroin, a senior police officer said. During questioning, she revealed the names of her suppliers.
Acting on the lead, police raided Burari and arrested Narender (37) and his wife Jyoti (35). Narender was intercepted near the transport authority office in Burari, while Jyoti was detained at their residence. A search of their flat led to the recovery of 712 grams of heroin, hidden at multiple locations, the officer said.

According to police estimates, the seized narcotics are valued at more than Rs 4 crore in the international market.
The three accused have no previous criminal record, police said, adding that further investigation is underway to trace the drug supply chain.
