
Two bike-borne men were arrested with Rs 85 lakh cash during checking on Mathura Road in central Delhi, police said.
Police said that on Tuesday a picket was installed on Mathura Road in central Delhi stopped the duo for checking.
Officials said that police found Rs 85 lakh in cash upon inspecting a bag carried by the two men.
They said the seized funds are believed to be part of a hawala operation, prompting the income tax department to be notified.
They added that the suspects have been transferred to the custody of the income tax department, while an ongoing investigation continues to unfold. (With inputs from PTI)
