Woman among two drug peddlers held in Delhi, smack worth Rs 2 crore seized

A woman, a notorious drug peddler, and her associate were arrested in Delhi’s Narela and smack worth Rs 2 crore were recovered from their possession, police said on Friday.

The accused have been identified as Parvati and Vikas Kumar alias Shanu, they said, adding that the arrests were made on September 23 following information about the movement of smack in Narela.

The accused were apprehended from a building in the area, where police recovered smack and an adulterant from a flat on the first floor. Narcotics were also recovered from a vehicle allegedly used by the accused, they said.

The total worth of the smack recovered is around Rs 2 crore.

The police said Parvati has been active in the area since 1994 and has around 12 cases registered against her, including those related to drug peddling.

She had also allegedly used children to sell smack in the area in 2017, they said.

Investigators said Parvati had been operating cautiously and did not allow leads to reach her, making her arrest a significant development in the probe into the local drug network.
