
A 12-year-old girl was reportedly raped in Mayur Vihar, East Delhi, police said on Saturday.
The incident came to light when the girl’s father reported the assault to the Mayur Vihar police station after receiving medical attention at LBS hospital on Wednesday.
The father accused a man from their village of raping his daughter. A case has been registered under Sections 376 (rape) of the IPC and Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The alleged perpetrator, identified as 19-year-old Ibran, was apprehended in Khora, Uttar Pradesh, where he operates a tailor shop. Police have initiated further investigations into the matter. (With inputs from PTI)
