
19-Year-Old Killed After Truck Hits Motorcycle in Delhi
A youth was killed and another injured after their motorcycle was allegedly hit by a truck at the IP flyover in central Delhi on Sunday morning, police said.
Around 6.20 am, a PCR call was received at the IP Estate police station about the accident, police said.
“Aman, 19, a resident of Madanpur Khadar, was riding the motorcycle towards Sarai Kale Khan when the two-wheeler was allegedly hit by a truck on the IP flyover,” a senior police officer said.
Alber (22) of Batla House in Jamia Nagar, who was riding pillion, also fell from the motorcycle and was injured, police said.
Both were rushed to the hospital, where Aman was declared dead. Alber is undergoing treatment and his condition is stated to be stable, they said.
Police personnel reached the spot soon after receiving the information about the accident and a crime team was called to collect evidence.
“The truck driver fled the spot following the collision,” said the police officer.
A case is being registered and necessary legal action is being taken. Efforts are underway to identify the vehicle involved in the accident and trace its driver, police said.
It is being ascertained if any CCTV camera on the flyover or in surrounding areas captured the accident or the movement of the truck, they said.
