A 43-year-old was lynched in North Delhi’s Wazirabad area on Tuesday.
The police have identified the accused Manoj (35), a resident of Sant Nagar, who has been arrested. Authorities revealed that Manoj had previously been involved in five criminal cases.
The Wazirabad police station received a PCR call regarding a quarrel, prompting their immediate response. Upon arrival at the scene, the police discovered Parvinder, a resident of Sant Nagar in Burari, injured. He was swiftly transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment, as disclosed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Sagar Singh Kalsi.
The deceased’s body has been transferred to a mortuary. The DCP informed that the statement of eyewitness Girish Babu has been recorded. Girish Babu stated that Parvinder was ruthlessly beaten by Manoj with a stick.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the altercation between the victim and the accused arose when they accidentally brushed past each other while walking on a road. Following a verbal exchange, during which the deceased verbally abused the accused, the latter reportedly seized a wooden plank and struck the former.
In response, a series of raids were conducted, resulting in the apprehension of Manoj, as conveyed by Kalsi.
