
The Delhi Police has traced and reunited 168 missing people, including 53 children and 115 adults, with their families last month under their operation ‘Milap’, an official said on Tuesday.
Police said that multiple police stations in the southwest district launched a coordinated operation.
“Thirteen such operations were carried out from June 1 to June 30, involving teams from police stations like Kapashera, Sagarpur, Palam village, Vasant Kunj South, Kishangarh and others,” said the police officer.
The teams relied on CCTV footage, local inquiries, verification at transport hubs and consultation with bus drivers, conductors, vendors and local informers for the operation.
Separately, photographs of missing people were circulated, and hospital and police station records were cross-checked.
“The breakdown of recoveries includes five missing children and 28 adults by Kapashera police; 10 children and 20 adults by Sagarpur police and four children and 20 adults by Palam village police,” the officer said.
Similarly, three girls and 10 adults were found by Vasant Kunj South, eight children and three adults by Kishangarh police and one missing boy and 10 adults by Safdarjung Enclave police, according to the information shared by the officer.
Additionally, the Delhi Police’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) tracked down 11 missing children, Vasant Vihar police traced six minor girls and three women and R K Puram police located nine missing people.

Two minor girls and four adults were recovered by Delhi Cantt police, one girl and four others by Vasant Kunj North police, one girl and three adults by Sarojini Nagar police and one missing woman by South Campus police.
“In total, 521 missing people (149 children and 372 adults) have been traced in the southwest district since January 1 this year,” said the officer.
