Enforcement against wrong-side driving has increased by 113 per cent, with 2,321 FIRs registered, Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) TS Sandhu shared on X on Friday. He noted that this is part of an intensified drive to check traffic violations, including unauthorised parking.

The LG assessed traffic management and enforcement across Delhi in a meeting with the Delhi Police Commissioner and other officers, considering the ongoing monsoon season, Kanwar Yatra and Independence Day arrangements.

Highlighting encouraging progress this season, Sandhu said waterlogging hotspots fell sharply to 65 from 169, while Project Sangam strengthened citizen participation to boost local traffic management.

During the meeting, the LG emphasised that visible policing and active community participation are critical to tackling congestion, violations, and encroachments.

He said safe, disciplined, and seamless mobility directly impacts the quality of life of every citizen. He said there will be zero compromise in ensuring efficient traffic management across the capital.
