Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, asked citizens all over the nation on Thursday to donate blood in honour of Bhagat Singh’s birth anniversary on 28 September.
He said that more than 50 locations will host blood donation drives organised by the Delhi government in the national capital.
In an online briefing, Kejriwal urged the youth to come forward and donate on 28 September. Bhagat Singh’s “principles and ideals have been the guiding light for the AAP governments in Punjab and Delhi”, he said.
He also stated that if there the citizens should try to make arrangements if they do not have blood donation camp in their locality.
He claimed that the blood drive would be a suitable memorial to Bhagat Singh, who gave his life at a young age for his country.
“I urge blood donations from those who do not have conditions like diabetes. I also request political parties to participate in this initiative”, added the chief minister.
According to Kejriwal, Bhagat Singh gave his life in defence of the nation, therefore “let’s all help those in need by donating blood on his birth anniversary”, he said.
The AAP national convenor claimed that the ideologies of Sardar Bhagat Singh were used to rule the governments of Delhi and Punjab as well as his entire party.
These blood donation drives, according to Arvind Kejriwal, will bring people from all political affiliations together to pay a proper homage to Shaheed Bhagat Singh on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
