As the New Year approaches, preparations are in full swing in the national capital, with the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) taking extensive measures to ensure the smooth conduct of celebrations, officials announced on Sunday.

The DFS has strategically positioned fire tenders at key locations anticipating vibrant celebrations and large crowds, according to their statements.

In a message posted on ‘X’, DFS chief Atul Garg stated, “DFS has put in place comprehensive arrangements for the safety of Delhi citizens on the eve of the New Year. In addition to fire stations being on high alert, fire tenders will be stationed at specific locations to respond promptly to any emergencies that may arise. Happy New Year to all.”

Authorities have pinpointed 10 to 12 vulnerable locations in the city where special precautions have been implemented, officials reported.

These locations encompass Ansal Plaza, Lajpat Nagar, Connaught Place, Palika Bazar, Gandhi Nagar Market, Pacific Mall, Rani Bagh Market, Chhatarpur, Majnu Ka Tila, Hauz Khas Village market, Guru Hanuman Marg, Aero City, Mukherjee Nagar, and the Kalkaji temple area.

“Our primary focus is to create a festive atmosphere while prioritizing the safety of everyone,” Garg emphasized in an earlier statement to PTI.

Security measures have been intensified throughout the national capital, with a significant deployment of police personnel.
