An incident of severe assault in a private school in east Delhi has sparked outrage after a 14-year-old boy was reportedly beaten and subjected to a disturbing act. The police revealed that the accused, believed to be a classmate of the victim, has been apprehended and presented before the Juvenile Justice Board. However, the victim’s family suspects the involvement of additional students in the assault.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Apoorva Gupta, the distressing incident transpired on April 2 within the premises of the private school. Allegedly, the altercation stemmed from a dispute during class when the victim, an eighth-grader, was accused of making noise by thumping the table.

Narrating the harrowing experience to the authorities, the victim disclosed that his masked classmate physically assaulted him and went to the extent of inserting a wooden stick into his private parts. The perpetrator further threatened dire consequences if the victim disclosed the incident to anyone.

Medical examinations confirmed the presence of a foreign object causing injuries in the boy’s posterior, as stated by the police officer.

Subsequently, protests erupted outside the school on April 3, spearheaded by the victim’s parents and relatives, demanding swift action against the culprits.

The victim has undergone counseling, and legal procedures have been initiated, informed another police official.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that the altercation initially erupted over the table-thumping incident, which was temporarily resolved by the intervention of the class teacher. However, the conflict reignited later, leading to the assault. The victim’s family alleges the involvement of multiple students in the attack.

A case has been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 377 (unnatural offences), and 506 (criminal intimidation), along with the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

The investigation into the matter is ongoing, assured the officer.
