Two men were killed after a car allegedly rammed into their motorcycle from rear near Bhajanpura Metro station in northeast Delhi, police said on Saturday.
The accident took place around the intervening night of May 8 and 9 in the Khajuri Khas area, they said.
“The police found a Bullet motorcycle and a Maruti Celerio car involved in the accident,” a senior police officer said.
During inquiry, it was revealed that the car had allegedly hit the motorcycle from behind, leaving the two riders seriously injured, he said. The injured men were shifted to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital by a PCR van, where doctors declared them dead, the police said.
The deceased were identified as Rohit (31) and Hemant (33), both residents of Karawal Nagar.
“A forensic team inspected the scene and collected evidence. The bodies have been sent for postmortem. The accused driver, identified as Himanshu (27) has been arrested and the offending vehicle seized,” said the police officer.
Further investigation into the accident is underway to ascertain the exact sequence of events leading to the accident, he added.
