The MCC came into effect on January 7, marking the start of heightened enforcement measures to ensure a fair election process.

In this period, 14,183 people were arrested under various provisions, including the Excise Act, according to an official statement. Police intensified vigilance at border checkpoints and launched multiple crackdowns on illegal activities, including the smuggling of arms, liquor, and drugs.

The enforcement efforts led to the confiscation of 212 illegal firearms and 295 cartridges. Additionally, 36,223 litres of liquor worth over Rs 1 crore were seized, along with 74.86 kilograms of drugs valued at more than Rs 15 crore. Police also recovered over 1,200 banned injections during these operations.
