The national capital experienced a settled minimum temperature of 12.6 degrees Celsius on Thursday, marking a two-notch rise above the season’s average, the weather department said.
The India Meteorological Department’s bulletin forecasts generally cloudy skies, with the possibility of occasional light rain or thundershowers throughout the day.
At 8:30 am, the relative humidity stood at 96 percent, contributing to the prevailing weather conditions.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) measured 366 at 9 am.
The AQI scale categorizes readings between zero and 50 as “good,” 51 to 100 as “satisfactory,” 101 to 200 as “moderate,” 201 to 300 as “poor,” 301 to 400 as “very poor,” and 401 to 500 as “severe”.
Among the monitored areas, six out of 37 stations (Punjabi Bagh, Bawana, Mundka, Nehru Nagar, and Jahangirpuri) recorded AQI levels in the “severe” category, while the remaining 30 stations reported “very poor” air quality.
The weather department anticipates the maximum temperature to remain around 24 degrees Celsius for the day. (With inputs from PTI)
