The Delhi High Court, on Friday, sought response from the CBI and ED regarding former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia’s bail pleas in the corruption and money laundering cases linked to the alleged excise policy scam.
Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma issued notices to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Sisodia’s pleas contesting a trial court’s April 30 order dismissing his bail petitions.
The high court scheduled the matter for further hearing on May 8.
Sisodia, in an interim application, urged the court to uphold the trial court’s order permitting him to visit his ailing wife once a week while in custody, pending his pleas.
Upon the ED counsel’s submission that the probe agency has no objection to continuing the trial court’s order, Justice Sharma granted the request.
The trial court had denied Sisodia’s bail pleas in the corruption and money laundering cases filed by the CBI and ED respectively, relating to alleged irregularities in the formulation and execution of the now-defunct Delhi excise policy for 2021-22. (With inputs from PTI)
