Delhi’s morning dawned with gentle rain and a minimum temperature of 13.7 degrees Celsius, as reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The city has seen 4 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours leading up to 8:30 am. Expectations are that the city will continue to experience overcast skies with the potential for more rain or drizzle as per the IMD.

The humidity was measured at 73 percent, indicating a fairly humid environment.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) at 9 am was at 103, categorizing it as ‘moderate’ according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). AQI ratings range from zero to 50 for ‘good’, 51 to 100 for ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 for ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 for ‘poor’, 301 to 400 for ‘very poor’, and 401 to 500 for ‘severe’.

Delhi witnessed a mix of weather conditions during the past week, starting from February 26. The week began with comfortable temperatures hovering around 17 degrees Celsius during the day and dropping to around 10 degrees Celsius at night.

The initial few days saw mostly clear skies and sunshine, but it wasn’t long before the clouds gathered. By February 28, the weather turned cloudy and the day temperatures dipped to around 15 degrees Celsius. These clouds gave way to light showers on the morning of March 1, a prelude to what was to come.

On March 2, Delhiites woke up to a pleasant morning with light rain. The minimum temperature settled at 13.7 degrees Celsius. The city recorded 4 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours, and according to IMD, it was likely to witness generally cloudy skies during the day with a possibility of more rain or drizzle.

The humidity levels also rose slightly, measuring around 73 percent, indicating an increase in moisture in the air. The Air Quality Index (AQI) fluctuated during the week, starting from ‘moderate’ and at one point touching ‘poor’ before settling back to ‘moderate’. This oscillation was attributed to varying wind directions and other atmospheric factors.

The week ended on a relatively mild note, with temperatures rising back to around 17 degrees Celsius during the day and 12 degrees Celsius at night. The skies remained mostly clear, with just a few scattered clouds. Overall, it was a mixed bag of weather for Delhi, with some rain, clouds, and a moderate AQI.
