Delhi: Humid Sunday with patchy rainfall expected

Delhi is experiencing a warm and humid day on Sunday, with daytime temperatures peaking at 34.8°C and dropping to 28.8°C at night, according to IMD.

The city faces an 88% chance of rainfall, with moderate winds blowing at 19.8 km/h and humidity levels around 62%.

The day began with relatively comfortable conditions, but residents should prepare for scattered rain showers, particularly in the afternoon. While cloud cover is expected to offer some relief from direct sunlight, temperatures will still rise, reaching their peak around midday. As the evening approaches, temperatures will gradually decline, and breezy conditions will persist, although humidity will continue to create slightly sticky weather throughout the day.

Authorities advise residents to carry umbrellas or light rain jackets due to the likelihood of intermittent rainfall. Roads may become slippery during showers, requiring extra caution, especially for drivers. Morning hours remain the most suitable time for outdoor plans, offering cooler and more manageable weather conditions.

Looking ahead, the upcoming week will bring changing weather patterns. Monday, August 18, is expected to remain dry and partly cloudy, with temperatures reaching up to 35.1°C. On Tuesday, August 19, rainfall is likely to increase, accompanied by higher temperatures reaching 36.3°C. Wednesday is forecast to bring heavy rainfall, while Thursday will see lighter showers. The weekend is expected to be relatively dry, with partly cloudy skies and daytime temperatures settling around 33°C.
