Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu said on Monday that he has directed all departments to ensure effective implementation of the heatwave action plan on the ground.
Sandhu chaired a meeting with all concerned departments and agencies to review Delhi’s preparedness for the upcoming heatwave conditions.
“With the onset of summer, directed all officers to ensure that the action plan is effectively implemented on the ground within one week,” Sandhu said in a post on X.
District magistrates will take a lead role in execution, with special focus on safeguarding vulnerable groups – including women, children, the elderly and labourers through strong heat mitigation measures at public places, he added.
