The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that starting August 25, train services on Phase-III sections will commence at 6 am on Sundays, providing convenience for commuters, including students and exam applicants, officials said on Friday.
This adjustment aims to assist those travelling for competitive exams typically held on Sundays, according to DMRC officials.
Normally, metro services on these sections begin at 8 am on Sundays, but from August 25, they will start earlier at 6 am, stated Anuj Dayal, DMRC’s principal executive director (corporate communication).
The Phase-III sections encompass routes such as Dilshad Garden-Shaheed Sthal, Noida City Centre-Noida Electronic City, Mundka-Brigadier Hoshiar Singh, Badarpur Border-Raja Nahar Singh (Ballabhgarh), Majlis Park-Shiv Vihar, Janakpuri West-Botanical Garden, and Dhansa Bus Stand-Dwarka.
“The revised service timings on these corridors on Sundays will not only benefit regular commuters but also support numerous students or exam applicants travelling to their exam centres across Delhi-NCR,” Delhi metro officials said. “The extended timings will ensure a seamless and convenient journey to their destinations”.
