Delhi Polls: Arvind Kejriwal, the convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), along with his family, including his elderly parents, cast his vote in the Delhi Assembly elections on Wednesday. He urged Delhi’s residents to participate in the election process, emphasising the need for “good schools, hospitals, and the overall development of the city.”

Kejriwal, who is contesting from the New Delhi seat for the fourth consecutive time, faces stiff competition from BJP’s Parvesh Verma and Congress’s Sandeep Dikshit. He shared with the press that although his parents have health concerns, they were excited to vote from the early hours of the day. His wife, Sunita Kejriwal, and their son, Pulkit Kejriwal, also accompanied him to the polling station.

The former Chief Minister expressed optimism, hoping the public would vote in Delhi polls for candidates who work for the people. In a message on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote: “Today, I went and voted with my entire family. I voted for the progress of every Delhiite and for a respectable life for every poor family. You too should vote with your family and inspire others. Delhi’s progress should not stop. Hooliganism will lose, Delhi will win.”

He further addressed Delhi residents, stating, “Dear Delhiites, today is the day to vote. Your vote is not just a button, it is the foundation of your children’s bright future. It’s an opportunity to ensure good schools, excellent hospitals, and a dignified life for every family. Today, we must defeat the politics of lies, hatred, and fear, and make truth, development, and honesty victorious. Vote and inspire your family, friends, and neighbours to do the same. Hooliganism will lose, Delhi will win.”

Sunita Kejriwal also expressed confidence in the electorate’s judgment, calling them “very intelligent” and believing they would make the right decision. “They won’t tolerate hooliganism,” she added.
