The announcement will be made at a press conference at 2 PM on Tuesday, as the ECI has confirmed earlier in the day.

The tenure of the current 70-member Delhi Assembly ends on 23 February. For reference, the 2020 elections were announced on January 6, polling took place on February 8, and results were declared on February 11.
The Model Code of Conduct will officially come into effect once the ECI announces it. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the incumbent party, is aiming for its third back-to-back victory after winning 67 and 62 seats in 2015 and 2020, respectively. The BJP, which has won only single-digit seats in the last two elections, and the Congress, which lost its foothold after 15 years in steady power, are all set to contest against the AAP. Interestingly, while Congress and AAP had collectively contested the 2024 Lok Sabha polls for the seven parliamentary seats in Delhi, this time they will contest the Assembly elections separately.
Arvind Kejriwal, the former Chief Minister, will face challenges from former West Delhi MP of BJP Parvesh Sahib Singh and Congress’s Sandeep Dikshit at the prestigious New Delhi constituency. Atishi, the current Chief Minister, aims to contest against Congress leader Alka Lamba and BJP’s former South Delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri in Kalkaji.
Over 1.55 crore registered voters, including 2.08 lakh young first-time voters aged between 18 and 19 years, was published by the Chief Electoral Officer on Monday’s electoral roll in Delhi.
