Delhi: The national capital recorded a minimum temperature of 9.6 degrees Celsius on Monday, 3.8 notches below the season’s average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The chilly morning was accompanied by 75 per cent relative humidity at 8:30 AM.

The IMD forecast indicates that the maximum temperature is expected to rise to 29 degrees Celsius during the day, offering some respite from the cold morning.

Meanwhile, Delhi’s air quality remained in the ‘moderate’ category, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 124, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

An AQI between 101 and 200 is classified as moderate, which may cause discomfort to people with existing respiratory problems.

The weather department attributed the dip in temperature to clear skies and light northwesterly winds. The city is likely to witness similar weather conditions over the next few days, with cold mornings and warmer afternoons.

The humidity levels fluctuated between 81 per cent and 33 per cent.
