The minimum temperature in Delhi dipped to 13.9 degrees Celsius, slightly below normal, on Friday, with the weather office forecasting strong surface winds during the day.
The humidity level, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), stood at 53 percent. Air quality remained in the “moderate” category, showing an improved reading of 139.
The weather department suggests that the daytime temperature is likely to witness an upward trend as dry conditions are expected in the coming week, with no major western disturbance influencing the region.
The maximum temperature is forecasted to reach 33 degrees by March 20.
“The daytime temperature eased slightly on Thursday due to windy conditions. However, we do not anticipate any major western disturbance affecting the region and bringing weather activities in the plains over the next seven days,” an IMD official said.
“Dry conditions with ample sunshine are expected during this period. The maximum temperature has already surpassed 30 degrees in some areas, and it will gradually rise,” he said.
“Although the minimum temperature may drop slightly for the next two days due to prevailing winds, it will increase thereafter,” said an IMD official. (With inputs from PTI)
