
Delhi: The national capital recorded a minimum temperature of 23.7 degrees Celsius on Friday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting partly cloudy skies through the day.
At 8.30 am, relative humidity stood at 90 per cent, while the city received 14 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours, the IMD said. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 34 degrees Celsius.
Air quality showed an improvement on Friday morning, with Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) at 94, placing it in the “satisfactory” category, according to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data. An AQI reading between 51 and 100 falls under this range, while 101–200 is considered “moderate”.

On Thursday, the city had recorded a maximum temperature of 35.7 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal, and a minimum of 25.8 degrees Celsius, which was 2.5 degrees below normal. Delhi’s AQI then stood at 123 (“moderate”) at 4 pm.
The capital also witnessed widespread showers on Dussehra. Moderate to heavy rainfall was reported in parts of north, northwest, central and west Delhi during the evening hours. The Pitampura weather station recorded 17.5 mm of rain, Ridge 15.4 mm, and Mayur Vihar 9.5 mm, while Safdarjung registered only trace rainfall, the IMD said.
