Delhi weather: IMD issues rain alert as minimum temperature recorded at 10.4°C

The minimum temperature in Delhi dropped to 10.4 degrees Celsius on Wednesday morning, 0.6 degrees below the seasonal average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The weather office has forecast a thunderstorm accompanied by rainfall for the day, with the maximum temperature expected to reach around 28 degrees Celsius.

At 8:30 am, the humidity level was recorded at 83 percent. Meanwhile, air quality at 9 am stood in the “moderate” category, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 181, as per data from the Central Pollution Control Board.

The AQI scale categorises air quality as follows: 0-50 (“good”), 51-100 (“satisfactory”), 101-200 (“moderate”), 201-300 (“poor”), 301-400 (“very poor”), and 401-500 (“severe”).

On Tuesday, Delhi recorded its highest minimum temperature of the season at 13.3 degrees Celsius, 2.2 degrees above normal, while the maximum temperature was 28.8 degrees Celsius.

The IMD has predicted continued rainfall and thunderstorms in the coming days. Earlier, the second-highest minimum temperature of the season was recorded on February 4 at 12.8 degrees Celsius, with a maximum of 28.8 degrees Celsius, which was 4.4 degrees above normal for this time of the year.
