Delhi Weather: Rain likely in city; maximum to settle around 36 degrees Celsius

Delhi Weather: The city experienced a minimum temperature of 29.6 degrees Celsius on Friday, with the weather department forecasting moderate rainfall. Humidity was recorded at 76 percent at 8:30 am.

“The day is expected to have a generally cloudy sky, with light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds anticipated,” the weather office said.

The maximum temperature is likely to be around 36 degrees Celsius. The Air Quality Index (AQI) was registered in the moderate category, with a reading of 114 at 9 am, according to the Central Pollution Control Board.

On Thursday, the maximum temperature reached 38.8 degrees Celsius, which is three notches above the season’s average, according to the India Meteorological Department. Humidity levels fluctuated between 56 percent and 91 percent throughout the day. From 8:30 am on Wednesday to 8:30 am on Thursday, the city recorded 15 mm of rainfall.

An AQI between zero and 50 is considered good, 51 to 100 satisfactory, 101 to 200 moderate, 201 to 300 poor, 301 to 400 very poor, and 401 to 500 severe. (With inputs from PTI)
