Delhi Public School in RK Puram faced a bomb threat via email on Friday, leading to an immediate evacuation and a comprehensive search operation by the police. Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohit Meena confirmed no suspicious items were found.

The school, aided by the fire brigade, quick response teams, and police, conducted the evacuation and search. Initial investigation points to a hoax bomb threat, prompting the involvement of the cyber unit to trace the email’s IP address.

The bomb detection team and dog squad thoroughly searched the school and hostel with no suspicious findings. Meena stated that the investigation is ongoing, and no FIR has been filed yet.

The school, upon receiving an email about two bombs around 9 am, promptly informed the police, resulting in over 500 people, including students, vacating the premises.

The management ensured calmness and arranged buses for students and teachers to return home safely, declaring an off for the day.

No immediate response has been received from the school. Similar incidents occurred at Lal Bahadur Shastri School in RK Puram (September last year) and Delhi Public School in Mathura Road (May).

The Indian School in Sadiq Nagar faced two bomb threats, one via email on April 12, 2023, and the first over the phone in November 2022, both later revealed as hoaxes.

Authorities remain vigilant, stressing the importance of swift action and thorough investigations in such instances.
