
The G20 Summit is scheduled from September 9 to 10 at the newly constructed Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan
In preparation for the upcoming G20 summit in Delhi next month, the Delhi Police conducted a carcade rehearsal on Wednesday, involving routes from various points to Pragati Maidan. Commuters were advised to adjust their travel plans due to anticipated road closures on Wednesday.
The police anticipated congestion on several key routes including Salimgarh Bypass, Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Bhairon Marg, Mathura Road, C-Hexagon, Sardar Patel Marg, and Gurgaon Road until 11 AM, attributing this to the carcade rehearsal and special traffic arrangements. The traffic police conveyed this information through a message on the microblogging site X.
In light of the G20 Summit, scheduled for next month, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal endorsed a proposal to close all private and government offices in the city from September 8 to 10.
Additionally, banks, commercial establishments, and markets within the New Delhi district will also remain closed during these three days. (With inputs from PTI)
