Light to moderate rainfall was reported in Saket, Burari, Malviya Nagar, GTB Nagar, Lajpat Nagar, East of Kailash, Kailash Hills and central Delhi.
Delhi saw downpours that resulted in waterlogging in various locations, which was inconvenient for the locals.
In a traffic notice, the Delhi Traffic Police advised commuters to make appropriate travel plans.
More rain is expected to fall over Delhi and the surrounding areas in the coming two hours, according to the weather office.
“Thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of most places of Delhi, NCR ( Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Noida, Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, Manesar Gurugram) Rajaund, Assandh, Safidon, Panipat, Gohana, Gannaur… over two hours,” IMD’s Regional Weather Forecasting Centre (RWFC) tweeted around 10.50 am.
According to the India Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature reached 26.5 degrees Celsius, which is one degree above average (IMD).
In the nation’s capital, the day’s maximum temperature is forecast to be 34 degrees Celsius. On Friday at 8.30 am, the relative humidity was 92%, according to the weather office.
The national capital saw rain on Thursday, and the MeT office has forecast additional rain for the next two days.
The remote areas of Lutyens Delhi near the India Gate, Sansad Marg, ITO, Palam, Shahdara, Dilshad Garden, Ayanagar, Deramandi, Pitampura, and Najafgarh have all seen showers.
The city, according to the weather service, received 0.8 mm of rain in the 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Friday.
