Several parts of the city received showers on Tuesday, but the rain intensity varied from place to place. Met officials said more rain is expected during the day.
The minimum temperature early on Tuesday was 28.3 degrees Celsius, which is slightly above the normal average. At 8.30 am, the relative humidity stood at 83 per cent, according to data from the India Meteorological Department.
On Monday, the city experienced a maximum temperature of 38.2 degrees Celsius, three notches higher than the seasonal average.
However, the weather office anticipates a relief from the scorching heat with a generally cloudy sky and the likelihood of light to moderate rain or thundershowers on Tuesday. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 37 degrees Celsius. (With inputs from PTI)
