The minimum temperature in the national capital dropped to 22.6 degrees Celsius on Thursday, which is four degrees below the seasonal average, according to weather officials.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the day will see cloudy skies and light to moderate rain, along with thundershowers and gusty winds in most areas later in the afternoon or evening.
The National Disaster Management Authority has issued an advisory stating that thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds, ranging from 35 to 45 kmph, are likely to occur across several districts of Delhi within the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 35 degrees Celsius.
On a positive note, the air quality in the national capital has improved and falls under the “good” category as per the data provided by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
The overall Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 9 am stood at 96. The AQI scale ranges from zero to 500, with values between zero and 50 indicating “good” air quality. At 8:30 am, the relative humidity was reported to be 59 percent, according to the IMD bulletin. (With inputs from PTI)
