Major fire at cooler manufacturing factory in Gr Noida

Noida: A massive fire broke out at a cooler manufacturing factory in Greater Noida’s Ecotech 3 on Monday afternoon, police said.

Plumes of thick black smoke could be seen billowing into the sky from a distance.

So far, no casualty has been reported and nobody is trapped inside, Anil Kumar Pandey, incharge at Ecotech Police station, said.

The fire broke out at the factory of Ocean Mold Plast at around 1:30 pm, they said, adding that 26 fire tenders have been deployed and firefighting operations are underway.

The fire has spread to the nearby shops and factories, they said.

DCP Central Noida along with other officers and local police force are present at the spot, the police said.

Prima facie, a short circuit is suspected to be the cause of the massive blaze, they said.

Delhi: Minor siblings killed as fire breaks out in house due to LPG leakage

Two minor siblings were killed in a fire that broke out due to gas leakage from an LPG cylinder at their home in west Delhi’s Manohar Park, the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) said on Monday. The incident occurred around 8:20 pm on Sunday at WZ-7, Manohar Park. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot. The team that visited the spot confirmed that the fire started from the LPG cylinder, a DFS official said. The children were identified as Sakshi (14) and her brother Aakash (7), police said.

Delhi: Illegal sand mining continues unchecked, damage Yamuna

Nearly 200 trolleys and 50 dumpers of sand are illegally mined in the national capital daily at multiple locations, including Sonia Vihar and Jagatpur, despite clear directives from the Supreme Court, Delhi High Court, and the National Green Tribunal (NGT) banning sand mining in Delhi, according to sources. However, Delhi Police officials deny any such illegal activities taking place in the city.
