Man found hanging from ceiling fan of Delhi hotel

A 30-year-old man identified as Mohammad Amir was found hanging from the ceiling fan of a room in the Golden Delux hotel located in the Karol Bagh area of central Delhi.

According to police the incident was reported on Monday and the police recovered a long scarf used for hanging, a mobile phone, PAN card, and Rs 3,210 cash from the man’s pocket.

They said that the deceased was a resident of Gali Haji Ismail, Mohalla Qabristan.

The police have informed the family members of the deceased, and a preliminary investigation has suggested that he got married in January, they added.

“The body has been shifted to a mortuary for a post-mortem examination and we believe it to be a case of suicide, and proceedings under section 174 of CrPC have been initiated,” said police. (With inputs from PTI)
