Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius on Thursday, nearly one degree above the seasonal average, while the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast a generally cloudy sky with moderate rainfall and thunderstorms during the day.
According to the IMD, the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 33 degrees Celsius. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is expected in several parts of the national capital, offering relief from the humid conditions that have prevailed over the past few days.
The weather office has advised residents and commuters to remain cautious during periods of rain, as waterlogging and traffic congestion may occur in low-lying areas. Similar monsoon conditions are expected to continue across Delhi-NCR over the next few days, with intermittent spells of rain forecast.
Meanwhile, Delhi’s air quality remained in the ‘moderate’ category on Thursday morning. Data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) showed the Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 113 at 9 am.
As per the CPCB classification, an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered good, 51-100 satisfactory, 101-200 moderate, 201-300 poor, 301-400 very poor, and 401-500 severe.
