Delhi woke up to a pleasant morning on Wednesday with the minimum temperature settling at 18 degrees Celsius, 1.5 notches above the season’s normal.
The Indian Meteorological Department has forecasted partly cloudy sky in the afternoon, which is likely to become generally cloudy sky in the night with the possibility of very light rain drizzle accompanied by thunderstorm, lightning and strong surface winds.
At Palam, the minimum settled at 18.1 degrees Celsius, 1.7 notches above the normal, while Lodhi Road recorded 17.1 degrees Celsius, 2.1 notches above the normal.
The Ridge station recorded 16.4 degrees Celsius, the lowest among the observatories and 1.3 degrees below normal. Ayanagar logged a minimum of 17 degrees Celsius, 0.8 notch above the normal.
Delhi’s air quality was in the ‘poor’ category with the average Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 214, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
According to the CPCB, an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 to 500 ‘severe’.
The maximum temperature is expected to settle around 33 degrees Celsius.
