Delhi experienced moderate fog on Saturday morning with the minimum temperature settling at 8.9 degrees Celsius, marking a two-notch increase above the season’s average, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

At 5:30 am, Safdarjung, Delhi’s primary weather station, and Palam reported a visibility of 500 meters, as indicated by the IMD.

By 8:30 am, the relative humidity had reached 100 percent.

Fog disrupted train services, leading to delays for 14 Delhi-bound trains, as confirmed by officials.

As of 9 am, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 315, categorizing it in the ‘very poor’ range, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board.

To clarify, the AQI levels are graded as follows: ‘good’ between zero and 50, ‘satisfactory’ between 51 and 100, ‘moderate’ between 101 and 200, ‘poor’ between 201 and 300, ‘very poor’ between 301 and 400, and ‘severe’ between 401 and 500. (With inputs from PTI)
