Moderate rain likely in Delhi

Delhi recorded a relatively cool morning on Monday, with the minimum temperature settling below the season’s normal at most weather stations.

Safdarjung, the city’s primary weather station, recorded a minimum temperature of 23.7 degrees Celsius, 1.9 degrees below normal. The minimum temperature at Palam was 21.8 degrees Celsius, 3.6 degrees below normal.

Lodhi Road recorded a low of 23.6 degrees Celsius, 1.4 degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature at the Ridge was 22.2 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal.

Ayanagar recorded a minimum temperature of 23.6 degrees Celsius, 1.1 degrees below normal.

Delhi’s air quality was recorded in the ‘satisfactory’ category with the average air quality index (AQI) being clocked at 83, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

According to the CPCB, an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 to 500 ‘severe’.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted cloudy skies with moderate rain in the city for the day with maximum temperature likely to touch 34 degrees Celsius.
