Prahlad along with several other members of the All India Fair Price Shop Dealers’ Federation (AIFPSDF) assembled at Jantar Mantar, carrying banners and raising slogans.

According to PTI, AIFPSDF national general secretary, Biswambhar Basu told that they will also submit a memorandum listing their nine-point demands, addressed to the Prime Minister.

Basu added that they also plan to meet Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday.

The AIFPSDF has been demanding compensation for the loss on wheat, rice and sugar in addition to edible oil and pulses to be provided through fair price shops.

It has also asked that the ‘West Bengal Ration Model’ of free distribution be enforced across the nation.

Furthermore, the members said all due margins for all the states, counting Jammu and Kashmir also, should be reimbursed straight away.

We also demand that edible oil, pulses and LPG gas cylinders be disbursed through fair price shops. Rural areas’ fair price shop dealers should be permitted to take the role as direct procurement agents for wheat and rice. Basu added that our demands were also raised by Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Sougata Roy in Parliament.
